Ogie Alcasid speaks up about Regine Velasquez’s alleged network transfer

Rumors circulated that Ogie Alcasid had something to do with  Regine Velasquez‘s supposed switch to ABS-CBN from GMA-7. It might be a factor that Ogie is already in the Kapamilya network and allegedly convincing his wife to transfer as well. However, Ogie cleared the issue in an interview with PEP.ph during the ABS-CBN Ball last September 29 at Makati Shangri-La.

According to the singer-comedian, he does not interfere with Regine’s decision in her career. He said,

“Ako po ay walang kinalaman dun, ang asawa ko ay isang matalinong tao. Di naman yan magiging Asia’s Songbird kung di yan nagtiyaga ng kanya lang, hindi ba? Ako naman ay asawa lang niya,”

When asked if Ogie is open to working with his wife again in show business, he told,

“Sino ba ang may ayaw na katrabaho mo ang asawa mo? If that will happen, it’s a wonderful experience. Actually, ang tagal na rin naming di nagkatrabaho together. Limang taon na in a TV show,”

Ogie suggested that a situational comedy type of show would fit them together.

The two last starred together in GMA-7’s Sunday variety show “Sunday All Stars.” Then, he transferred to TV 5 network after his contract with GMA-7 in 2013.

At the end of the interview, Ogie snubbed the rumors of his wife’s move to Kapamilya network. The 51-year-old said,

“Mas maganda siguro na siya na lang ang kausapin niyo, Basta ako bilang asawa niya, laging full support sa kanya at excited ako para sa kanya, kung anuman ang mangyayari. It’s a blessing.”

Ogie is now having a smooth-sailing career in his current television network. He had projects including “Home Sweetie Home,” “ASAP,” and “It’s Showtime” with ABS-CBN.
